My biggest tip is spend a lot of time in pre-production. I think for any video 70% of your time should be spent in pre-production, 10% of your time on shooting the video, and then 20% in editing.

How long did it take to grow the channel to 1000 subscribers?

This was before my time but looking back at the data it looks like it was almost 2 years before the channel gained 1000 subscribers.

What gear do you use?

I shoot my talking head videos with a Panasonic GH5. I typically use the native Panasonic 25mm lens or the Lumix 12mm for wider shots. I try to use natural light when I can but I just recently purchased the Aputure 120D with a light dome and it is amazing. For a microphone I use the RØDELink Wireless microphone which plugs directly into my camera and I just clip the mic right under my shirt. I edit most of my videos on Adobe Premiere.

Where do you get inspired to create new content?

I watch a lot of videos on Youtube and take screenshots of setups or shots that I want to recreate. Honestly, I also copy a lot of the stuff the team over at Wista and Webflow create :)

What was your biggest lesson learned from creating videos?

My biggest tip is spend a lot of time in pre-production. I think for any video 70% of your time should be spent in pre-production, 10% of your time on shooting the video, and then 20% in editing. If you plan everything out, practice your scripts, create a shot list, etc. then shooting and editing will be a lot easier.
